Snowden Vineyards (Winemaker)

Diana Snowden Seysses graduated from the University of California, Davis, with a B.S. in Viticulture and Enology in 2001. After Diana’s first harvest at Robert Mondavi Winery, winemaking became her passion. Since then, she has gained experience working at estates such as Araujo in Calistoga, Mumm Napa Valley, La Fleur de Bouard in Bordeaux, and Domaine Leflaive in Puligny Montrachet.

Currently, Diana is the winemaker for Snowden Vineyards in the Napa Valley, where she oversees production and also works as enologist and cellar master for Domaine Dujac in Burgundy. In addition, she has been the winemaker for Ashes and Diamonds, another Napa Valley winery, since the 2016 vintage.

Her goal as a winemaker is to allow the site to speak. She tries to exercise the self-restraint to allow nature to do what it will, to create the environments that favor desired microbes to multiply naturally, and to recognize the signs that require intervention. Diana produces Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc at Snowden Vineyards.

The Snowden family has been farming red wine grapes on their ranch located on the eastern slope of the Napa Valley for three generations. Scott and Joann Snowden and Randy and Janet Snowden are the proprietors of Snowden Vineyards, and the second generation of Snowden grape growers; Diana is Joann and Scott’s daughter. She is married to Jeremy Seysses, whose family owns Domaine Dujac in Burgundy. Diana and Jeremy are the proud parents of two sons, Aubert and Blaise.
